If you’ve driven past the Pope Street Cottage Property in the past week, you’ve certainly seen that construction has begun in earnest. All the donated furniture and other items have been temporarily moved out of the house so that renovations can begin. A temporary fence has been erected around the property to ensure public safety during construction as well as to keep the site safe. Below are pictures from July 26th, 2010. We are removing the front porch this week in order to begin installation of a new porch, including a handicap accessible ramp.
We are very excited to see this project moving forward, and we are told that we could potentially occupy the building as early as the beginning of 2011! Thank you to everyone that has helped us reach this point! We couldn’t have done it without your support and the support of the community at large.
