There are a few requirements that must be met in order to ensure that the children receive the highest quality advocacy services possible. CASAs must commit to 40 hours of training, be 21 years of age or older, agree to a criminal background check, and provide four personal references. We ask that each volunteer commit to the program for at least 18 months in order to follow a case from the beginning up to permanency. The training curriculum is designed to prepare you to take on this important role in the life of a vulnerable child.
Orientation is an opportunity to see if you are the perfect fit for this role and get a feeling for what our organization is all about. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Mary at the Children First office: 706-613-1922 x1 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
