​COVID-19 Protocol

Children First Pandemic Transition Office Work Protocol as of 11/3/2021

Purpose: Children First Pandemic Transition from virtual to in person work. Protocol will be utilized during any health pandemic to protect the health and safety of all clients, volunteers and staff. This document will be updated if and when more information is released from the CDC, local and Georgia Government making changes to their guidelines and conditions.  

When it has been deemed in the best interest of citizens by the CDC and local and Georgia Government entities, Children First, Inc. will resume in person, face to face office work. Children First, Inc. 
Along with the CDC recommends that all eligible get vaccinated for COVID-19, wear masks in doors and remain 6-ft away from others that don’t live in your household.  
 

This protocol will change and be regularly monitored as new 
information is available.
 
Remote access to work is encouraged and will continue to be offered for all staff and interns until further notice.   
This practice goes into effect Monday, November 7th 2021.   

Synopsis of In-Person office work includes:
  
  1. Making our goal of providing continued services to at risk children and families that are unable to meet virtually more accessible 
  2. Children First strongly encourages that all staff, interns, board members, volunteers and clients follow the recommendation of the CDC to get vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus
  3. At most 5 people in one room at a time with air purifiers on
  4. After a space is used that all surface areas are wiped down 
  5. Staff wash/sanitize hands regularly throughout the day 
  6. Staff clean and sanitize their working space at the end of every workday and remove all food and drink trash from their work area 
  7. If a staff member feels sick, they immediately report to the executive director their concern.  

Eligibility to return to the office: 
 
  1. At this time, staff, interns, clients and volunteers are allowed in the building with masks on and maintaining 6 ft distance.  The business is not open to the public, but appointments can be scheduled for clients and volunteers to enter the premises.  
  2. If they have tested positive for COVID-19 they are not to enter the office.   
  3. At this time all volunteers and clients will be met outside of the office.   
  4. The Executive Director will meet them at the door to ask them a series of questions including:  
    1. Taking their temperature 
    2. Asking them about their most recent contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and/or active symptoms.   
    3. Sign that they have received this information 
  5. Staff meeting clients and volunteers outside will be masked, socially distanced  
  6. Whoever enters inside the office, they must wash/sanitize their hands.   

Mask Protocol and Rules: 
  1. To enter the office, all people must wear masks when sharing a space with others, stay 6 feet away from other people, when possible, and regularly wash their hands.   
  2. All people coming into the office will be generally informed if any staff or intern present at the office has tested positive for COVID-19 No identifying information of individuals who sick will be shared.  
  3. If you are in a room by yourself, you do not need to wear a mask.   
  4. In all shared meeting rooms (Kitchen, Board Room, Sitting Room) there will be a maximum of 5 people in the room with an air purifier.   

Before coming to the office:  
 Staff must determine if they:   
  1. Have symptoms such as headache, nausea, fever greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, lack or loss of smell/taste or other respiratory symptoms within the last 14 days. 
  2. Have been in direct contact with someone who may have been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19  

If any of these apply to staff and/or interns they cannot return to the office until they have a negative COVID test 3-5 days after exposure to COVID-19. Please get a COVID-19 test and if you test negative after 3-5 days you may return to the office. If not, alternative virtual work options will remain available.  
During the work day, staff will:  
  1. Utilize fans and open windows throughout the day to maintain air flow 
    1. The back door of the office may also be opened 
  2. Wash/sanitize hands throughout the day 
    1. ​​After gatherings, whether inside or outside, staff members will wash and/or sanitize their hands 
  3. Have cleaning supplies on one’s desk for easier access to utilize throughout the day 
  4. Clean dishes and kitchen space immediately after use 
    1. Each person will be responsible for their own mess and no one else's  
  5. Immediately report concerns to the executive director and if they feel sick 
    1. If a staff member is showing symptoms at work, they will be immediately separated from the group and office and sent home. They will be directed to speak with their healthcare provider 
    2. All other employees and interns will be notified of possible exposure without releasing the confidential information of the potentially sick employee  
    3. If sick, staff and interns will be able to return to office with a negative COVID test.

At the end of each work day, staff/interns will:  
  1. Clean and sanitize their own workspace thoroughly before leaving 
  2. Take office food and drink trash to the kitchen garbage can daily 
  3. The last person to leave the building at the end of the day will wipe down on all the communal space in the building.  

Visitors to the office: 
  1. Are not allowed into the building.   
  2. Staff and visitor have proper face masks on during external exchanges 
  3. Staff and visitors are at least 6 feet apart 
  4. Staff will wash hands before coming into contact with someone else 
  5. If a staff member or guest feels sick, they immediately report their concern to the executive director 
  6. If any maintenance is required inside the building, those that are entering must have a mask while they are in the office and remain distanced 6 feet from any staff member and/or intern. 
  7. Once all staff members and interns have returned to the office, Peachy Clean will be cleaning the office every 3 weeks.
